Let’s dive into our top 3 strains for 2021!

  1. Reef Organic – Banana Daddy

Appearance 4/5

Small but chunky, dense buds. These buds literally glisten with trichomes covering the emerald green and deep purple flower.

Aromas 4/5

It’s no surprise this strain offers quite a creamy, fruit-forward aroma, coming from the parents of two very fruity cultivars. The aromas are almost reminiscent of a banana milkshake with a slight hint of fuel undertone.

Packaging 4.5/5

Unlike the recycled plastic packaging we have seen Reef Organic use, this cannabis came in a nice, newly designed glass jar. Optimal for keeping the bud’s moisture and structure intact, glass jars are the way to go. No humidity pack included, but also not necessary.

Effects 4/5

This was a very much a couchlock indica-dominant strain, with a lot of giggling shortly followed by intense munchies – which I hold the CBGa accountable. I found it to be the perfect strain for winding down in the evening with a very heavy body buzz.

Flavour 5/5

The flavour on this was quite smooth and creamy, very clean on the inhale – almost sweet like bubblegum. While on the exhale offered a gassier flavour.

Genetics

Banana Daddy is a cross between Banana Hammock R1 and Granddaddy Purple, bred by Ethos Genetics. This indica-dominant strain consists of a beta-Myrcene, trans-Caryophyllene, and Farnesene as the top terpenes.

2. Wagner's Cherry Jam

Appearance ⅘

Three sizelable rounded buds, with superb density. With squish test the finger didn't leave much of an imprint, so found the bud to be quite firm. The colours are a frosty forest mint green, with quite embedded purple speak throughout. Trichomes lightly coat the exterior of the buds.

Aromas ⅘

Initial smell was quite sweet, more of a dried cherry richness. But offered a quite forward fuel and skunky finish, when ground up especially. When decanted aromas are even more pronounced, a suggestion to try another time.

Packaging 3.5/5

Packaged with Dymapak, the bud structure's integrity still managed to keep its shape. In terms of moisture, it was a bit leaning to the drier side however again with decanting offered a bit more humidity.

Effects 5/5

Initial effects felt a bit hybrid leaning, with an uplighting euphoric start but easily settled into a potent relaxing deep chill indica. Quite lasting as it does anchor down as the high progresses onwards.

Flavour 4/5

Tastes of tart fruit and citrus-grapefruit almost were on inhale, with a berry smooth finish. Smoked in a joint found toward the end expense more of a rich woody cherry taste tih a cakey finish.

Genetics

Cherry Jam is a cross between Cherry AK-47 and Purple Punch. This indica dominant strain offers a punch of effects with a terpene profile of Beta-Myrcene, Beta-Pinene, Caryophyllene, Limonene.

Prenup Sugarbud

Appearance 5/5

Spider like caked amber pistols bedded in the bud. Colours of mossy deep green with lime green highlights. With some spots of purpling. Truly in the name the trichome coverage is reflected as the exterior was a sugar like densely packed crystals coated throughout the buds.

Aromas ⅘

This ying yang effect of sweet and savoury. The sweetness comes from tart citrus notes with a nice complement of floral, flowery freshness. The savoury coming from cracked black pepperiness and the musky, pine like finish.

Packaging 5/5

Comes in this nicely weighted blacked out glass jar. Jar offered optimal moisture the bus was quite palpable and sticky to touch. It did not include a humidity pack, but again not needed. Found this jar to be ideal for storing cannabis post open as the bud maintained its structure and freshness till purchase point.

Effects ⅘

With the wedding cake crossing and linalool terpene profile for a sativa it offered a much more pleasant calming high. Was quite cerebrally stimulating initially with some nice boost of energy, giggles, the drifts of into a mellow-kick back vibe. At the point of your high, a hour later, your mind is pretty settled and now you're just in a hazy bliss.

Flavour ⅘

Cakey creme-like smoothness persists throughout the smoke with white like ash. Offers a more earthy spice on inhale and on exhale more floral with gassy skunky aftertaste.

Genetics

Prenup is a cross between Wedding Cake and M.A.C (Miracle Alien Cookies). This Sativa dominant strain offers a unique properties of effects with a terpene profile of Caryophyllene, Limonene (secondary), Myrcene (tertiary), Linalool (quarterary).
