6 Easy Steps to Roll a Joint
Consuming Cannabis products can be done in different ways such as inhaling, ingesting and topically applying it. While it may look tricky and difficult, especially for first-timers, rolling a joint requires 6 easy steps and some practice.
Get your supplies
When rolling a joint, you will need your dried cannabis flower, a grinder, rolling papers, a rolling tray or piece of paper. Many rolling papers come with small pieces of rectangle cardboard that can be used for a filter, but you can also rip a piece of cardboard from a business card or the pack of rolling papers itself. 2. Grind up the Dried Cannabis Flower
It is best if you use a high-quality grinder made of steel instead of plastic to allow your cannabis to burn evenly and smoothly. Sometimes, a grinder is not always accessible, so you can use a pair of scissors or rub dried cannabis flower against each other to break up the flower. Please remember to remove the stems before breaking up your flower. If using a grinder, don’t overfill the cannabis so it clumps up together. The result should be ground in small pieces but not powdery.

3. Make a filter
A filter prevents the dry flower from passing into your mouth while inhaling and helps you avoid burning your fingers from holding the joint. Some rolling papers come with filters or tips, but you can use any type of thick paper such as a business card.
Here’s how: Rip a rectangular shaped piece of thick paper and curl the paper into a spiral.
4. Fill the rolling paper
Rolling papers come in many shapes and sizes. Some papers include raw paper, hemp paper, organic and more. Joints can be made in many different shapes and sizes, but the standard ones are straight, which provides the same amount of dried flower all the way to the end of the cylinder. As you gain experience you can shape the joint and seal the joint in different ways. To fill the paper, first ensure the glue, or shiny, side of the paper is facing up. If you are using a filter, place it at one end of the joint paper. Fill the paper with the dried cannabis, leaving a little space at the end opposite the filter.
5. Pack the Cannabis
Fold the unglued long side of the paper up and around the cannabis, then roll it inside the paper using your thumbs and index fingers until it is well-packed and forms a cone shape. This stage makes it easy to roll the whole thing and eliminates gaps.
When shaping the dried flower into the desired cylinder, try not to press directly on it. You may accomplish this by pinching the paper and filter while rocking it back and forth.
6. Roll the Joint
To secure the cannabis and filter, tuck the non-glued edge around the packed cannabis and roll the paper up securely. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the side and secure it. You can also tamp down the cannabis with a small object, such as a pen, by poking it into the open end. To keep any cannabis from escaping, gently fold and twist the open end tight.
